[Notes from http://www.tudorplace.com.ar/HUNGERFORD.htm#George%20HUNGERFORD1] Hungerfords of Windrush, County of Oxford: "This branch of the Hungerford family appear to have been originally derived from Edward, second son of John of Down Ampney by Margaret Blount. He married Margaret, daughter of Sir John St. John, and departed this life 1531. Inscription on a flat stone in the church is as follows: "Here lieth George Hungerford and by him Katharine his wife, daughter of Edward Fabian of Compton County of Berkshire, England., by whom he had nine children: Edward, Anthony, Thomas, John, Jane, A'ne, Martha, 8th unintelligible, Eleanor, was interred June 16, 1597".
