Theodore Dockter, 80, Denhoff, ND died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at the St.
Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey.  Funeral services will be held at the Peace
Lutheran Church, Goodrich on Wednesday, September 26 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation
will be at Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m. and on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home
of McClusky. Burial will be held at the Goodrich City Cemetery.  Ted was born
January 21, 1927 in the Lincoln Valley area north of Denhoff. He was the son
of Jacob and Martha (Dockter) Dockter. Ted grew up and attended Schiller
Township rural school north of Denhoff.  He married Norma Frey on February 16,
1946 in Goodrich. They lived and farmed in the Lincoln Valley area. In 1964
Ted and Norma moved south of Denhoff where they ranched. Norma died on August
28, 2001. Ted retired in 2002.  Ted served on the Sheridan County Soil
Conservation Board, Sheridan County Historical Society and Denhoff Farmers
Union Board. Ted was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Goodrich, Goodrich
Lions Club, McClusky Senior Citizens and Ponderosa Saddle Club where he was a
charter member. He was also a member of the Goodrich Rural Fire Department
where he served as a director.  Ted enjoyed playing cards, square dancing,
attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and trail riding. Ted also had
a real talent for drawing.  Ted is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law,
Dennis and Marcia Dockter of Harvey, Kerry and Brenda Dockter of Denhoff; six
grandchildren, Steven, Julie, Marc, Michelle, Pam, Kristi; three
great-grandchildren, Mikella and Quinn Kost, Micah Dockter; three brothers,
Clifford of Harvey, Roy (Pearl) of Bismarck, Duane (Lois) of Great Falls,
Montana; two sisters, Marian Burck of Hettinger, Betty Bartels of Lemmon,
South Dakota; special friend, Betty Klundt of Medina, ND.  Ted was preceded in
death by his parents and his wife, Norma.
