Sheis survived by her husband, Ludvig; three sons, Ken (Ardyce), Bismarck, Jim(Debora), Rugby, Mark (Susan), Fillmore, N.D.; five daughters, Geri (Wes)Weeding, West Fargo, Gloria (Robert) Larson, Kathryne, Luci (Terry) Vandal,Garrison, N.D., Cheryl (Mike) Hahn, Grand Forks, N.D., Kristie (Tom)Schrader, Vancouver Island, British Columbia; two brothers, Chris, Fargo,John, Pleasant Lake, N.D.; four sisters, Carolyn Van Raden, Fargo, CatherineDeeter, Tucson, Ariz., Vernice Knutson, Paurma Valley, Calif., Anna MaeBozanson, Minot, N.D.; 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Thefuneral will be Saturday at 3 in Little Flower Catholic Church, Rugby.(Anderson, Rugby) Johanna HoffertFuneral services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church for Johanna Marie Hoffert, 82, Rugby, who died Thursday, March 31 at her home.Burial will be in the church cemetery.Johanna was born Jan. 31, 1923 in Pierce County, the daughter of Carl Louis and Frances (Volk) Duchscher. She grew up in the rural farm home of her parents in Reno Valley Township and was educated in Reno Valley Township and Rugby schools. In January of 1943 she moved to Chicago and later Cincinnati, where she worked in cosmetics. On Nov. 6, 1943 she married Ludvig Hoffert at Fort Thomas, Ky. After World War II she farmed with her husband in Benson County near Fillmore. The couple retired from farming in 1982 and moved to Rugby.She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers. She was a volunteer in the community and the Heart of America Medical Center.She is survived by her husband; three sons, Ken, Bismarck, Jim, Rugby, and Mark, Fillmore; five daughters, Geri Weeding, West Fargo, Gloria Larson, Kathryne, Luci Vandal, Garrison, Cheryl Hahn, Grand Forks, and Kristie Schrader, Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada; 24 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Chris, Fargo, and John, Pleasant Lake; four sisters, Carolyn Van Raden, Fargo, Catherine Deeter, Tucson, Ariz., Vernice Knutson, Pauma Valley, Calif., and Anna Mae Bezanson, Minot; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth; seven brothers, Carl, Nick, Joe, Walter, Jim, Herman and Gus; and her parents.Fr. Francis Arthur will officiate. Organist will be Glenda Mack. Cantors will be Cheryl Hahn, John Duchscher, Geri Weeding and Lois Clark.Casketbearers will be Jonathan Hoffert, Phillip Hoffert, Adam Hoffert, Ryan Hoffert, Brian Larson, Chris Larson, Chris Schrader and Jared Hahn.
