Joseph J. Heintz was born to John Heintz and Stefina Voeller, at Hagel Twp, Benson, Co. He died of renal failure in 1933 at Knox, N.D. after farming around Maddock in Benson, Co.No. Dak. Joseph worked for a short time as a fireman with SooLine railroad and due to illness found it necessary to retire. Joseph was buried at Little Flower Cemetery at Rugby. His wife Katherine Vetsch Heintz was buried at St Joseph's Cemetery, Devils Lake, ND. The split stone identifies the two separate locations. Survivors include wife Katherine, son's John and Leo, daughters Katherine and Barbara.
