Notes for Frank JANGULA


Funeral services for Frank Jangula, 72, Larimore were held Monday, December12,
1988 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Larimore, with the Reverend WilburO.
Fisher officiating. Military honors and flag presentation were accordedby the
Ted Valerius Post No. 97 of the Larimore American Legion,Casketbearers were
Vance Bakke, Lincoln Nesdahl, Clarence Meyers, BennieNowek, Svend Anderson
and Huger Carlson. Committal services and internmentwere held in Bellevue
Cemetery, Larimore. Frank Jangula was born November 9,1916 at Linton, ND, the
son of Martin and Anna Marie Baumgartner Jangula. Hewas raised and educated
in the Linton area. Frank received Holy Baptism andconfirmed his Christian
faith at Linton. He entered the CivilianConservation Corp and worked in the
Larimore area in the 1930's. Frank wasunited in marriage to Esther Thorpe on
july 7, 1942 in Larimore. After theirmarriage Frank was inducted into the
United States Army on September 28,1942 at Fort Snelling, MN, and served
during World War II. After receivinghis Honorable Discharge on November 13,
1945 at Camp McCoy, WI, he returnedto Larimore where they have lived since.
Frank was employed as an automobilemechanic and later employed at Civil
Service at the Grand Forks Air ForceBase from 1964 to 1978 when he retired.
They couple continued to live andmake their home in Larimore. Frank passed
away on Friday, December 9, 1988at the Northwood Deaconess Hospital. Frank
was a member of Our Savior'sLutheran Church, Larimore Fire Department, the
Ted Valerius Post No. 97 ofthe Larimore American Legion and the Disabled
American Veterans in GrandForks. Surviving members of his family include his
wife, Mrs. Esther Jangulaof Larimore, two daughters, Susan (Mrs. Paul) Earich
of Santa Maria, CA, andMarilyn (Mrs. Larry) Sherwin of Grand Forks, one
granddaughter, JenniferEarich, his step mother, Mrs. Katherine Jangula of
Strasburg, ND, halfsister, Lena (Mrs. Harry) Wolbaum of Braddock, ND, and two
half brothers,Adam of Hazelton, ND and Joseph living in the state of Idaho.
He waspreceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers, and one half
brother.
