Visitation will be 2-5:30 p.m. Friday at the mortuary and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. William passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen. William P. Jung was born Aug. 19, 1929, to Paul Sr. and Elizabeth (Salwei) Jung in Zeeland, N.D. At age one, his mother passed away; later, Paul married Magdalena Salwei. William attended country schools and worked on the family farm. He entered the U.S. Army on Oct. 24, 1951, and served in Korea. William was honorably discharged on Oct. 1, 1953, and returned to Zeeland. William married Alvina Weigel on Nov. 23, 1953, in Zeeland. They farmed in the Greenway, S.D., area until 1956, when they moved to Hague, N.D., where they lived in a sod house. In 1964, they moved to Aberdeen, where William worked for Frank Scepaniak. Alvina passed away in November 1966. William then was employed with M & J Construction and later with Wilmer Gehring Construction. William and Rose Malsam were united in marriage on May 3, 1969, in Aberdeen. From 1987 to 2002, William worked with his wife at Custom Cakes in Aberdeen. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, V.F.W., American Legion and Eagles Aerie 632. William loved to play horseshoes, bowling, pool, hunting, fishing and pinochle. Preceding him in death were his parents and stepmother; first wife, Alvina; one son, William Jr.; one infant daughter, Lorretta; and two brothers: Robert and Anton.
