Notes for Barbara KLOTZ

Son Chris writes: At a triple wedding service in Allan on November 6, 1922,
Barbara Klotz married Christian Leier. Barbara and Christian had wanted to be
married for some time, however. Grandpa Klotz was insistent that they would
not be married until Andrew, his oldest son was married. This eventually led
to the triple wedding service of Barbara and Christian, Andrew to Rosa
Moldenhauer and Ed Vogelgesang to Faustina Moldenhauer. Barbara died of Breast
Cancer. Barbara and Christian settled on the old Leier farm just east of
Allan, where Balzar Bitz's now reside, it was here that Christian met his
untimely death in October, 1924. Barbara and Christian had two sons. James
Andrew born in October, 1923, and Christian John in May, 1925. After
Christian's death, Barbara moved to Allan and helped out in Grandpa's store.
She met Leo Marbach and was married to him in February, 1927. Barbara and Leo
had two daughters and three sons; Helen, George, William, Kenneth and Rita.
The children of both marriages were raised and received their schooling in
Allan. Barbara the eldest married Christian Leier. They had two sons, Chris
and Jim. Christian died as a result of a farm accident and Barbara later
married Leo Marback. They had three sons, George, Billy and Kenneth and two
daughters, Helen and Rita. They retired to Saskatoon and Leo passed away in
1970, Barbara in 1976. (from Allan History book)
