could be some mix up here? Both these Anton's fit the description as sons of Jochim, but it could be that Jochim named 2 sons Anton which happened on occasion? STEELE â Anton J. Meier, 87, Steele, died June 18, 2012, at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Steele. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Steele. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, where an evening prayer service will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Anton was born May 14, 1925, in Zeeland, the son of Jochim and Julia Meier. Anton grew up on a farm in Zeeland. He married Elsie Keller and they had three children, Rosemary, Elsie and Anton Jr. Elsie Keller Meier died in 1951. Anton married Julia Wald in 1952; together, they had 10 children and resided and farmed in Steele for 45 years. Anton enjoyed farming, carpentry, cards and spending time with his family and grandkids. He was very active and faithful in his church. Anton is survived by his wife, Julia, Steele; and his 10 children, Rosemary Puklich, Elsie (Jim) Volk, Bernice (Tony) Puklich, Luella Brahos, Kenny (Linda) Meier, Delores (Stan) Fossum, Victor (Sarah) Meier, Anna (Lorin) Kahl, Debbie (Craig) Hester and Andy Meier. He leaves 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Sebastian Meier. Anton was preceded in death by his three sons, Anton Jr., Isadore and Valens; his brothers, Jochim, Adam, Ben, John, Frank, Joe and Peter; his sisters, Mary, Magdelina, Sister Gemella, Julia and Anna; and two sons-in-law, John Brahos and John Puklich.
