Amelia Senger, 95, Bismarck, formerly of Mandan, died Sunday, July 6, 2007 at St. Vincentâs Care Center, BismarckMass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mandan, ND with Father John Mathai as celebrant. Burial will be at the Mandan Union CemeteryVisitation will be held Tuesday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, from 1:30 to 2:30 at the St. Vincentâs Care Center chapel and from 4:00 to 9:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home. There will be a Rosary at 7:00 pm and a Parish Vigil at 7:30. Visitation will also be held one hour before the service at the church.Amelia, daughter of Frank and Margaret (Dietrich) Kuntz, was born on March 5, 1912 in Richardton, ND. She was raised and educated in the Mandan - St. Anthony area. On November 13, 1933 she married Philip M. Senger in Bismarck. After marriage she and her husband lived in Bismarck where she devoted herself to being a wife and mother to their 13 children. She worked briefly outside of the home at the Bismarck Elks from 1966-1968. She and her husband moved to Moses Lake Washington where they lived for two years. They returned to Mandan in 1970. Philip died July 3, 1974. Ameliaâs strong Christian faith was evident in the way she lived her life. Daily prayer as well as generously giving of her time and talents to Sacred Heart Rosary Society, St. Joseph Alter Society and numerous other church activities. Ameliaâs lively social spirit and her desire to remain active were recognized by others when they appointed her one of the Liberty Heights Queens.Amelia will be dearly missed by her sons Philip âDickâ (Beverly), Lawrence (Andi) both of Bismarck, David, Lincoln, ND, Maurice (Joanne), Seattle, Wash., Frank (Gloria), West Fargo, ND, and Jerome, Mandan, ND; Daughters Irene (Francis âButchâ) Welch, Hobson, Mont., Frances (Robert) Barnhardt, Waverly, Neb., Vivian (LeRoy) Roehrich, Bismarck, Margaret Senger, Mandan and Marilyn (Steve) Benkendorf, Cottonwood, Ariz.; Twenty-four grand-children, 34 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren and one sister Tillie Masseth, Plains, Mont.Amelia was preceded in death by her husband Philip, her parents, daughter Charlotte Anderson, son Leonard Paul; two sons-in-law, Anthony LaGeose and John Anderson; one daughter-in-law, Arnetta Senger; one grandson Michael Senger; one grandson-in-law Winfred âJrâ McCallister; three great-grandchildren, Tom Burns, Elmo Uttecht, and Amanda Zacher; four brothers and four sisters.
