Binfet Regina Evangeline (Volk) Binfet May 24, 1920-Oct. 20, 2016 Regina Evangeline (Volk) Binfet, 96, formerly of Rugby died October 20, 2016, at Heartland Care Center in Devils Lake. Regina was born on May 24, 1920 in the Fulda area to Joseph and Regina (Schneider) Volk. She attended school in Fulda. Regina loved music and as a young girl she learned to play the accordion, piano, and organ by ear. She married Michael Binfet on June 13, 1938 at the Fulda church. Mike received the gift of having Regina join him in heaven on his birthday, October 20th. Together, they began their 28 year career farming. They purchased their own farm in Esmond, North Dakota where they raised eleven children. Mrs. Binfet belonged to the St. Boniface Church in Esmond and later Little Flower Church in Rugby. She also was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She loved to entertain her friends and family with her skill of cooking,story telling, and playing cards filling the house with laughter and love. She enjoyed gardening. Her yard was full of beautiful flowers. Some of the best times of enjoyment for Regina were spent at their lake cabin at Devils Lake. She is survived by her children: Jerome (Connie) Mesa, Arizona; Albert and his friend Bonita Mertz Elgin, North Dakota; Ruddy (Jean) Devils Lake; Michael (Mick) Denver, Colorado; Mark (Rita) Kansas City, Kansas; Clyde â Devils Lake; Gloria Kleinhans Ithaca, Michigan; Alice (Norman) Streifel, and Shirley (Ralph) Volk Devils Lake. Regina also leaves a sister, Dorothy Wilden Detroit, Michigan, a brother-in-law Raymond âBuddyâ Walter Minot, daughters-in-law Paula Binfet Rugby and Linda Binfet Luck, Wisconsin. Reginaâs 32 grandchildren, her 60+ great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren will miss her very much. Mrs. Binfet was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years on January 31, 2005, sons Joe and Martin; daughter-in-law Shirley Binfet, grand-daughter Julie Marie Binfet; brothers John, Phillip, Peter, Anton and Casmer Volk, and sisters Rose Wald and Phillipine Schmidt. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 11:00 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby. Rev. Thomas Graner and her grandson, Rev. Keith Streifel will officiate and Glenda Mack will be the organist and Sara Selensky will provide vocal music. Casketbearers will be Michelle Anderson, Justin, Shawn, and Tim Binfet, Patty Fanter, Lori Fleischer, Rick Kleinhans, Doug Streifel, and Ronald Volk. Burial will be in the Little Flower Catholic Cemetery in Rugby.
